Explore the wines of Piedmont
If you are trying to get a deeper understanding of Italian wine, Piedmont is one of the most beatiful wine regions to get to know because it introduces us to a completely new set of wine grapes like Erbaluce, Nascetta, Timorasso, Freisa, Grignolino, Ruchè, Pelaverga and many
different types of Nebbiolo and Barbera. Piedmont (Piemonte) is considered a top wine region in Italy because of the high quality of wine, 85% of the production is DOC wine.
When wine lovers think of Piedmont, they immediately think of Barolo and Barbaresco, which are famous for their Nebbiolo-based wines. Surprisingly, Barolo and Barbaresco only account for 3% of Piedmont’s production, so there is quite a bit more to uncover! For example there are several other denominations like Gattinara and Roero that are less known. Besides, since 2014 there is a new denomination, Nizza, which is a new reality of Barbera vine variety that has strict production limitations and regulations.

Luca Wine can offer a wide range of wines (85 different types of bottles) generally made from less known vine varieties (timorasso, nascetta, erbaluce, ruchè, pelaverga, freisa and grignolino) and new denominations (Nizza, Roero, Dogliani, Derthona, Erbaluce and Gattinara) together with other famous vine varieties like barbera, dolcetto and nebbiolo typical of Piedmont.
The wines are recognised in Several Italian Wine Guides (Slow Wine, Gambero Rosso e Veronelli) for their exceptional and unique taste, and many of them have been awarded a medal by Decanter in the last three years; thirteen of them a bronze medal and four of them a silver medal.
